Strawberry Spinach Salad

Ingredients

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2T white balsamic vinegar
2 T fresh basil
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tsp french mustard
1 package spinach leaves, washed and shredded
1 cup sliced strawberries
1/3 cup thinly sliced red onion
1/2 cup shaved cheese (Asiago, cheddar or to taste)
1/3 cup nuts (toasted walnuts, pecans, or almonds are all nice choices)

3 T apple brandy, or other brandy as available
1 orange slice
sugar to taste

1 cup port or claret
2 cloves, whole
1 allspice, whole
2 lemon slices
sugar, cinnamon sticks, lemon twist

Irish Coffee

Ingredients

1/2 cup strong black coffee
1 tsp sugar
3 T Irish whiskey
whipped cream

This drink is best served in a mug with a sugared rim. Add a maraschino cherry for colour. The coffee should be black, with no added milk.
